Confirm if the key is hard to turn when the door is ajar, not closed in the frame. A lack of stiffness when open suggests a door alignment issue which is putting extra pressure on the key when it is being turned. Contact a door installer or locksmith for correction.

Maintain cylinder performance with ABS graphite powder and ABS Lock Lube. Buy from ABS approved suppliers. Apply sparringly to the key, insert into lock, rotate several times.
